Autumn 2024BIOL/INFO 270: Data Reasoning in a Digital World. Jevin West and I developed this course in 2017 and teach it together annually. The aim is to provide students with the tools and practice they need to spot and refute bullshit, particularly when it arrives in quantitive form. Evolution and Medicine
Spring 2024BIOL 469: Evolution and Medicine. My course on Evolution and Medicine offers students a chance to explore the ways in which evolutionary biology can contribute to medical research and practice. In this course we focus on reading and the primary research literature, and on synthetic writing rather than memorizing facts.
